Andre Ventura accuses Pedro Nuno Santos of incompetence and argues that the right must stop the “hysterics”

President Chegi this Thursday accused the Secretary General of the Social Democratic Party, Pedro Nuno Santos, of incompetence and considered that the right should stop the “hysterics” and come to an agreement on shared governance after the legislative elections in March.

Calling the Socialist leader “a boy in a turtleneck”, Andre Ventura believed that Pedro Nuno Santos was “a terrible manager, a huge incompetent man” and, if he governed, he would “create the worst country in many years.”

The Chega leader spoke at an event with businessmen organized by the International Club of Portugal, which was held at a hotel in Lisbon.

Noting that “the right has spent the last few months arguing with Chega yes or Chega no,” the party president considered that “this is bad for the country and for the right,” because it conveys to voters the idea that the SDP and Chega will not be able to understand each other after elections on March 10.

“Now is the time when we must say that we are different, but instead of throwing tantrums every day from one side to the other, we must say: “We are different, but we have an obligation to govern by principles.” On the 10th, with the conditions that the Portuguese provide us,” he challenged.

Andre Ventura also argued that the PSD and Chega should show that they have a “plan to govern” even despite their differences, instead of “trying to see who can take more votes from each other.”

“We are naive if we play into the hands of the left,” he said, noting that this involves “igniting a fight until the end of the election campaign between Andre Ventura and Luis Montenegro.”

President Chegi warned that as long as this happens, “the PS has an open green path” to continue to rule, as it gives citizens “the idea that there is only one alternative, which is the left, because the right does not understand each other.”

“What I want for my country is not to waste any more time. There are conditions for the right to bring together a majority to govern the country and ensure conditions for economic, financial and business stability in the coming years,” he emphasized.

Andre Ventura also called himself a “responsible candidate”, opposing the PSD leader for abandoning government agreements with Chega.

Leader Chegi also noted that the “big challenge” for the right is “their reorganization” and that party officials “are not delivering what the left wants, which is wars, traps and cultural tricks.”

Asked about these calls for understanding with the PSD, occurring at the same time as he criticized the leader of that party, Luis Montenegro, André Ventura replied that “this is what was missing in democracy, which he could not criticize”, but emphasized that his opponent is Pedro Nuno Saints.
