A man arrested on Wednesday in Estarreja, Aveiro district, on suspicion of domestic violence will await the completion of the process in preventive detention, the GNR said on Friday.
In a statement, the GNR clarified that the 33-year-old suspect was named as an accused and was present in the Aveiro court and was subject to the most serious coercive measure.
“Following an investigation into a domestic violence case, Guard troops determined that the suspect had physically abused the victim, his 29-year-old ex-partner,” the same note said.
Following a police investigation, an arrest warrant and a search warrant at the home were executed and a revolver, six rounds of ammunition, two air pistols, two replica firearms (lighters) and two pocket knives were seized.
