Rui Rocha says AD’s economic program is ‘blatantly insufficient’

IL President Rui Rocha said this Thursday that the economic program of the Democratic Alliance (AD), presented on Wednesday, is “blatantly insufficient”, given that his party “is the only one” with “transformative” potential” from the country.

“I will give the Liberal Initiative 10 points for the program that it will present in the coming days. I’ll give the SDP a six because I think it’s moving in the right direction at some points, but it’s clearly not going far enough. “, said Rui Rocha, answering a question about the economic program of AD, the coalition that unites PSD, CDS-PP and PPM for the March 10 legislative elections.

Rui Rocha made the statements to journalists as part of a visit to the Sant Ana agricultural fair in Rabo de Peixe, municipality of Ribeira Grande, as part of the campaign for early elections in the Azores on February 4.

According to Rui Rocha, there are differences between the AD and IL proposals.

“A very clear example. We want to reduce taxes for the Portuguese,” said the IL leader, noting that “the state takes too much tax” from working Portuguese.

He also assured that the Liberal Initiative “is the party with the greatest ambitions to empower the Portuguese people to develop the country” and create “a different country.”

“We want the Portuguese to reach the end of the month with more money in their pockets than the PSD is offering. And we also have different proposals in the field of healthcare and housing,” he emphasized.

Responding to a question about a report by Sábado magazine according to which António Malo de Abreu, declared Chegi’s candidate after leaving the PSD, received about 75 thousand euros in subsidies and benefits for declaring his residence in Luanda, Rui Rocha said that “Liberal Initiative censorship “applies to all behavior that undermines the trust of the Portuguese.”

Szabado states that Malo de Abreu lived “mainly between Lisbon and Coimbra” throughout the legislature.

“This kind of behavior is unacceptable, no matter where it comes from,” he stressed, stressing that IS “is the only party” that has “transformative potential from an economic point of view, from a social point of view, but also from a security perspective trust in institutions.”
