Andre Ventura stated that “if he discovers that he received improper sums and that his place of residence was not in Luanda and that his entourage was not in Luanda”, Malo de Abreu “definitely will not be” a candidate for parliament from Chega.
“If it happens and if I have access to these elements, the slightest traces of abuse or fraud, I will not have two standards. If this happens, the deputy will not be on the Chegi lists that have not yet been delivered,” he assured.
However, Ventura did not specify whether his assessment of the case would focus only on legality or whether it would be extended to a possible ethical failure on the part of Malo de Abreu, a former PSD deputy and current candidate for Chega.
The Chegi leader was responding to journalists in the Assembly of the Republic to a report by Sábado magazine, according to which Malo de Abreu (who recently became an unregistered deputy after leaving the PSD) received about 75 thousand euros in subsidies and daily allowances. .for declaring his residence in Luanda.

Andre Ventura argued that “anyone who unduly benefits from public funds by attempting to deceive or commit fraud in violation of the law cannot be a candidate for the post of Chegi.”

Ventura also said that he did not ask the deputy when he was last in Luanda.
