PS Secretary General Pedro Nuno Santos said this Monday that the municipal property tax (IMI) he pays for the properties he bought in Alentejo corresponds to the value determined by the Ministry of Finance.
“I pay IMI, which comes from a financial valuation, like any Portuguese,” Pedro Nuno said in response to news from the Correio da Manhã that said the PS leader was paying 143 euros in IMI for a house worth more than half a million. Euro.
According to the newspaper, the property, located in Montemor o Novo, was purchased in 2022 for €506,500, but tax authorities valued it for IMI purposes at €47,870.
Since the IMI rate in Montemor o Novo is 0.3%, at this value of tax asset (VPT), Pedro Nuno pays an IMI of €143 per year.
