The Government of Madeira will grant a holiday on Carnival Tuesday and next Wednesday morning to all services, institutions and public companies under its control, according to a resolution published this Monday in the Official Journal.
The head of Madeira decided to give “point tolerance on Tuesday at the carnival.” [13 de fevereiro] and next Wednesday morning in all services, public institutions and public companies under the supervision of the regional government, without prejudice to the provision of all essential or essential services and activities,” the resolution reads.
The Government of Madeira adds that “the services of the Autonomous Regional Public Administration which by their nature work continuously, as well as those which for reasons of public interest must work on the day(s) specified above, must create the necessary conditions so that its workers can later, with the consent of their respective hierarchical superiors, to enjoy the tolerance now granted.”
The decision was made on Thursday at the weekly meeting of the Regional Government Council (PSD/CDS-PP), but was not included in the executive statement released at the time containing the meeting’s conclusions.
