Former PAN leader André Silva announced his resignation from the party today, saying the party had “lost its core” by supporting the regional government of Madeira, part of the SDS/SDS-PP coalition.
“My activism in the party becomes unbearable when the MHP stubbornly supports the perpetuation of a tentacular regime whose modus operandi has been exposed and disgusts every democrat,” writes a former representative of the party, now led by Ines de Sousa Real, in the newspaper Publico.
In an opinion piece entitled “The PAN Has Stopped Representing Me,” the first MP elected by the party in 2015 noted that the PAP “has become deeply irresponsible, has forgotten those who have no voice, has given up the fight, and so today represents 1% of voting intentions “
