On immigration, while Rui Rocha argued that immigration was welcome, Andre Ventura said care must be taken not to turn Portugal into “a country where no one controls anything.”
“If we allow everyone to enter without criteria, without control, one day we will not have a country, we will have banditry in the open,” notes the Chegi leader.
Ventura recalls that the IL always voted against Chegi when the party tried to approve the expulsion of immigrants.
Rui Rocha also asked Andre Ventura not to lie about immigration data in Portugal, classifying some of the Chega leader’s statements on the matter as false.
