As part of efforts to prevent and combat crime and road accidents occurring across the country, the PNP apprehended 276 people in flagrante delicto and detected 4,600 traffic violations, it was learned on Saturday.
The GNR statement clarified that the operations were carried out from February 2 to 8 throughout the country.
As a result of the complex of actions, 276 people were arrested at the scene of the crime, the majority of them (124) for drunk driving, and 47 people for driving without a license.
Twenty people were arrested for drug trafficking, 19 for theft and robbery, nine for domestic violence, five for illegal possession of weapons and prohibited weapons, and one for bushfire.
Various quantities of drugs were seized during the operations, including 2,099 doses of heroin, 1,584 doses of cocaine, 1,427 doses of hashish, 264 doses of marijuana, seven doses of MDMA, 41 cannabis plants, 175 amphetamine tablets, nine LSD and three MDMA tablets.
The PNP also seized 25 firearms, 422 ammunition of various calibers, 28 bladed or prohibited weapons, 24 vehicles, eight explosives and €14,120.93 in cash.
The action also resulted in 4,600 traffic violations across the country, the majority of which (854) involved speeding.
Of the identified violations, 498 were related to the lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 263 to malfunctions in lighting and alarm systems, 200 to lack of insurance, 181 to tachographs, 137 to improper use of a mobile phone, 129 to absence or improper use. seat belt and 44 for driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
