Italian farmers agreed this Saturday with the Roman authorities to announce a large protest next Thursday at the Circus Maximus in the center of the Italian capital and called on all citizens to join the demonstration.

Italian farmers, like farmers in other European countries, have been protesting for several days, demanding tax cuts and maintaining a discount on the price of diesel fuel after 2026, as well as against increasing production costs.
“We invite all sectors to join. Farmers, artisans, traders, citizens and consumers – everyone, because this is a demonstration for everyone,” Calvani said.
According to estimates from the CRA collective, one of those protesting in Rome these days, 20 thousand people will take part in the action, and 15 tractors will pass through the city center.
Another association, Riscatto Agricolo, described its conversation on Friday with Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida as negative.
On Friday evening, nearly 200 tractors marched along Rome’s ring road, escorted by authorities.
On the other hand, the Italian government led by Giorgia Meloni has welcomed several agricultural and consumer organizations and promised them tax breaks and protection of national production in light of the protests of recent days.
