The government of the Azores has extended until March 1 the application period for companies and employers for Reconverter Pro, which facilitates the vocational retraining of unemployed people experiencing great difficulties in finding employment, it was announced this Monday.
According to a press release from the Azores Executive, PSD/CDS-PP/PPM coalition, applications must be formalized on the employment portal.azores.gov.pt, with internships starting within a maximum period of 10 working days from the start of selection and employment of the unemployed in approved internship projects.
The measure to support the integration and reintegration of unemployed people into the labor market “also includes benefits for companies that provide internships with unemployed people with disabilities, in terms of internship duration, support and recruitment obligations.”
Unemployed people receive a grant of 125% of the guaranteed minimum monthly remuneration if they have a qualification equal to or above level 6 of the National Qualifications Framework.
In case of level 4 and 5 qualifications, unemployed people receive 105% of the guaranteed minimum monthly remuneration.
For unemployed people with qualifications equal to or below level 3, the stipend amounts to 100% of the guaranteed minimum monthly remuneration.
The Reconverter Pró initiative aims to “promote the vocational retraining of unemployed people with major difficulties in finding employment, stimulating the development of personal and academic skills sought by employers.”
It also aims to “encourage internships in a real work context, allowing recipients to have close contact in their roles and with employers with a view to their subsequent integration into the labor market.”
According to the Azores government portal, the initial duration of the internship is six months and can be extended for this period of six months, including a month of rest, which must be taken during the 12th month, when the promoting organization promotes at least 150 hours of certified training during the initial internship period.
In cases where the trainee has a disability equal to or greater than 60%, the initial duration of the internship is 12 months with the possibility of extension for a further 11 months, including a month of rest from the 12th to the 15th. month of internship.
If an intern integrated into a non-profit organization has a duly demonstrated disability or psychological disorder, the initial duration of the internship is 12 months, which may be extended for a period of 11 months, including a month’s rest between months 12 and 15 of the internship.
