The leader of the PAN, Inés Souza Real, said this Wednesday that she has “great commitment” to the cause she represents in the Assembly of the Republic and to the people, refusing to say whether she will be available to conclude governance agreements with the PS. or blood pressure.
“What we will do is look at those who are able to form a government and see how they approach the causes that we represent. We have a very clear set of specifications that we need to guarantee in the next legislature,” Souza said. Real in Porto, pointing to cases of a food basket with zero VAT, a revision of the IRS conditions or free kindergarten for all eligible families.
The PAN leader also cited the issues of decarbonization of the economy and the environment as examples, recalling that they “remained outside the debate between Pedro Nuno Santos and Luis Montenegro” on television on Monday.
Ines Sousa Real considered it necessary to give this assessment, not wanting for the moment to link the party to “a reality that is currently unknown.”
“We have already made it clear that there are red lines, both from an ideological point of view and from the point of view that we do not want rollbacks on gender equality issues, because it has taken a long time to achieve women’s rights, we also do not want rollbacks in matters of gender equality. equality issues, for example for LGBTI people, or in terms of non-discrimination or combating hate speech,” he said.
In the words of Ines Souza Real, “These are rights that in society we cannot take for granted.”
“When we see populist forces growing and coming to power or even in AD, when Luis Montenegro unites with either Nuno Melo or Gonçalo da Camara Pereira, we know that there is a responsibility here for parties within the democratic spectrum to guarantee the stability of the government and to these rights are not called into question, and that we do not have a social crisis along with the socio-economic crisis that the country is experiencing,” he emphasized.
PAN wants to be “a solution in terms of the interests it represents in the Assembly of the Republic,” he stressed.
The PAN leader was speaking at the Campanha Youth Center in Porto, where she went today to highlight the gaps that exist in the country in terms of supporting the health of young people, be it in general or in the case of mental health in particular.
