Montenegro warns that protest voting “benefits the offender” PS

PSD leader Luis Montenegro called this Thursday for the concentration of the votes of voters who want a new government in the AD, warning that “the protest vote benefits the offender, it benefits the PS.”

At a rally in Cascais, attended by former leader and PSD number one activist Francisco Pinto Balseman, Luis Montenegro also declared that “a country that wants to level everything from the bottom is enough”, saying that he is not afraid of the word for the party led by Andre Ventura.

“Now it’s enough on the one hand and enough on the other. Stop leveling the lower classes and enough to tell people that you can give everything to everyone at the same time, we are ambitious, but we have responsibility,” he said. .

Montenegro, having already passed through Portimao and Silves (in the Faro district) and Torres Vedras in the Lisbon district, ended the election day with a dinner, which, according to the organization, was attended by about a thousand people. wanted to leave an explicit call for healthy voting, even saying that he understands those who choose their vote because of their interest in more specific topics or their desire to protest.

“Regardless of the legitimacy of these more specific programs, regardless of the desire to protest, if they want to have a new government, there is only one option – to vote for AD. A protest vote is legitimate, but it does not change the government. “Protest voting is beneficial to the violator and beneficial to the PS,” he believes.

Montenegro called on voters to evaluate the programs, as well as the teams and “the characteristics of each of the leaders.”

“And don’t waste the opportunity to change the government,” he stressed, admitting that for those who are doing well in Portugal, “the surest option is to vote for the PS.”

Earlier, Francisco Pinto Balseman, who was prime minister of the first Democratic Alliance (which united in the 80s, as now, PSD, CDS-PP and PPM), also called for a vote on the change.

“We are here to loudly declare that we are tired of living in lethargy, we are tired of living in a deferred country (…) Let’s vote for AD to build our future now,” he called, considering that Luis Montenegro “represented many evidence of leadership qualities.”

“He has demonstrated that he is ready to become the next prime minister of Portugal,” he said.

At the end of SDP activist number one, the speaker responsible for presenting the speeches emphasized: “And if that doesn’t involve former presidents in the campaign, then I don’t know what is.”
