An Emirates flight bound for Lisbon was diverted to Faro this Thursday. The plane, flying from Dubai, was supposed to land at Humberto Delgado Airport at 12:00, but on its first approach to the runway it gained altitude again and turned west.
It circled the Lisbon metropolitan area for an hour until it headed south towards Faro, where it landed at 1:15 p.m.
TO CMEmirates clarifies that the flight was rescheduled for safety reasons due to bad weather.
“The aircraft in question will depart tomorrow at the same time – 14:30 on the opposite route (Lisbon-Dubai). As for passengers, Emirates has guaranteed that the situation will not cause serious difficulties,” the statement said.
