IL expects to elect 12 deputies in March legislative elections

The President of the Liberal Initiative, Rui Rocha, this Sunday set himself the goal of achieving a 50% increase in the legislative elections on March 10 and electing 12 deputies who will influence the country’s politics.

“We want to grow, it would be a shame if the economic growth party did not have growth ambitions, and so the bet is clear: we want to grow by 50% compared to the last election,” the MP said. The liberal leader talks to reporters after a meeting held at the Science and Technology Park in Évora.

An increase of 50% means a transition from the current eight to 12 deputies, he clarified.

On the day of the official start of the electoral campaign, which took place through the districts of Setubal and Évora, the President of IL believed that achieving this goal was crucial to influence the country’s politics and find solutions that he felt Portugal lacked.

In the legislative elections on January 30, 2022, IL won 4.91% of the vote and eight deputies, seven more than in 2019.

To win the trust and votes of the Portuguese, IL will invest in a campaign of trust and hope, focusing on presenting solutions to the country’s problems in areas such as health, education, economy and housing, he stressed.

“We don’t want the Portuguese to oppose the Portuguese, we reject campaigns of fear, we reject campaigns of reassurance. The solution lies with the Portuguese, because the Portuguese have the skills and there is nothing stopping us from being a much more prosperous country than we are.” it was,” Rui Rocha emphasized.

Confident of a good outcome, the liberal reinforced the idea that the country needed good government and good policies to become a much better place.
