According to the IPMA statement, the earthquake was recorded at stations of the seismic network of the Azores archipelago at 17:26 local time (18:26 in Lisbon), and its epicenter was approximately four kilometers northeast of Santa Barbara, in Terceira.
The earthquake did not cause any personal or property damage and was felt at maximum intensity IV (modified Mercalli scale) in the Cinco Ribeiras region and at intensity III in Angra do Heroismo.
The seismic network of the Azores archipelago also recorded this Thursday on the island of Terceira at 5:49 am local time (6:49 am Lisbon time) an earthquake of magnitude 3.3 on the Richter scale and its epicenter approximately four kilometers northeast of the island of Terceira . Santa Barbara.
According to the IPMA, this earthquake did not cause any personal or property damage and was felt at maximum intensity IV (modified Mercalli scale) in Altares, Santa Barbara and Biscoitos parishes.
This was also felt with less intensity in the village of São Mateus da Calheta and in the parishes of Cinco Ribeiras, Terra Chan, São Bartolomeu (Terceira).
