The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, expressed this Friday his “respect and admiration” for the work done by civil protection agents and called for “the development of an increasingly sustainable society.”
A message from Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was left on the official website of the President of the Republic on the occasion of International Civil Protection Day.
“(…)The President of the Republic expresses his deep respect and admiration for civil protection agents, given their unique contribution to helping society in moments of vulnerability,” the note said.
In the same message, the head of state also emphasizes the importance of “developing an increasingly sustainable society, informed and prepared to address challenges related to the protection of life, property and the environment.”
