The PSD president said this Saturday that he wants to lead a “new cycle of government open to society”, with lower taxes and economic growth, inspired by the rule of Aníbal Cavaco Silva, to achieve “even greater success”.
“From the very beginning, I proposed to Portugal a new cycle of government, open to society, which will move from one country to another in search of those who are more dynamic, who are more competent, who represent the potential of the Portuguese people,” said Luis Montenegro at the Democratic Lunch Rally alliance (AD) in Trofa, Porto district.
The President of the PSD, who at this meeting had the support of the President of the City Council of Porto, Rui Moreira, welcomed his presence and pointed to him as “an expression of this principle of opening this candidacy”, noting that, in addition to the post of mayor: “He is also an entrepreneur “
Afterwards, Luis Montenegro recalled the years of Cavaco Silva’s government, considering that they correspond to how the PSD/CDU-PP/PPM coalition wants to “treat the country’s productive potential” and its ambitions, “which do not surrender to this economic growth of 1, 5% or 2% who want to at least double or even more than that in the coming years.”
“There was a time when we did this for many years in a row. This was from 1985 to 1995. When we look at this past, we are not there to contemplate it, when we look at this past, we are to inspire us with what we have. If we could do it before, we can do it even better again,” he said.
