Luis Montenegro claims that PS and Chega are confusing each other

The PSD chairman said on Tuesday that the PS and Chega were confusing each other, accusing both of running a campaign of “small episodes” and pointing to the AD as the “only bastion” of responsibility and change.

“Today we look at PS and Chegu and they are very confused with each other because one and the other only talk about small things, they do not talk about the real problems that trouble the lives of Portuguese men and women.” – said Luis Montenegro in a short speech delivered on a bench in Aveiro.

At the end of the street rally of the Democratic Alliance (AD) with PSD-PP President Nuno Melo, the PSD chairman renewed the message he had left shortly before for journalists, saying that he differs from his opponents in his sense of responsibility and focus on people’s problems.

The PSD/CDU-NP/PPM coalition has carried out and will continue to carry out a “positive campaign,” he lamented.

According to Luis Montenegro, others are “always interested only in creating small episodes, small contradictions”, and the PS has transferred “deeds and affairs” from management to campaigning.

“Many Portuguese men and women look at us and see here as the only stronghold where we can deal with the problems that people want to see corrected in their lives, with a sense of responsibility and a sense of change,” he said.

AD gathered dozens of supporters in Aveiro, the district of the PSD president, originally from Espinho, in a street rally that lasted about 45 minutes, accompanied by a brass and percussion band, along the Avenida Doutor Lourenço Peixinho.

The initiative involved, among others, the president of the Aveiro City Council, Ribau Esteves, AD candidates Emidio Sousa and Salvador Malheiro, and former CDS-PP deputy João Almeida.

Halfway through the journey, Luis Montenegro was approached by court official Andre Ferreira and complained about the conditions at the Aveiro Labor Court and the salaries in this special quarry.

“I have already been with you, with the representative associations in Santo Tirso, we are already establishing a dialogue, and we will try, immediately after the elections, if we deserve the trust of the Portuguese people, to start trying to value all careers in Public Administration,” responded the PSD President.

Luis Montenegro said AD’s proposal for public management has “two components: increasing the value of careers and rewards on the one hand, and increasing the value of working conditions on the other.”

“In our budget scenario, we have the prospect of having a budget for annual updates as well as career time recovery and performance evaluations based on employee performance in all areas,” he continued.

The bailiff believed the profession was seen as a “specialized career for responsibilities rather than rights”, with a salary “little above minimum wage” and “enormous responsibilities”.

After this, he asked people not to make up “this mistake”, promising to “open up the recruitment process, because if you earn 800 euros, no one will be hired”, and said that “all people will retire” in this career .

Luis Montenegro promised to immediately begin a “process of dialogue” if he forms a government, and said that difficulties in retaining and hiring people are “a problem in several sectors” of the state, “it is cross-cutting” and occurs with “competitions for security forces, judges and even teachers “

“We are no longer able to meet the challenges of the competition, and the attraction is gone, and we cannot retain them. And as you know, and this happens to you too, there are many people who enter into careers. and in a year or two, when they have the opportunity, everything will go the other way. This is one of the symptoms that we are failing in this area,” he defended.

From Aveiro, the AD delegation went to Águeda, in the same area, for a shorter street rally that also ended on the roof of a bank, where the PSD president called for participation in Sunday’s legislative elections, reiterating that the candidacy represents a “safe move” , who “doesn’t waste time on trifles.”

“The last few days have been the expression of many people who were already thinking of voting for the PS, who were thinking of voting for Chega, but realized that solutions do not come from these two sides, but only “divers” come from these two sides. two sides, and here care concerns every person,” Montenegro said.
