Rui Rocha doesn’t want “one more cent” for TAP and defends 100% privatization

The president of the Liberal Initiative, Rui Rocha, guaranteed this Wednesday that he will not allocate “a single cent” to TAP, insisting on its 100 percent privatization.

“With us, not a cent more for TAP, TAP is privatized as quickly as possible, on the most favorable terms and 100%. This is the position of the Liberal Initiative,” confirmed the leader of the Liberals following a visit to Qualifica 24 – Fair for Education, Professional Training, Youth and Employment in Matosinhos, Porto district.

In the final stage of Sunday’s legislative elections, the Liberal leader said that the IL position on TAP is known and remains the same after PS Secretary General Pedro Nuno Santos spoke this Wednesday in an interview with Rádio Renascença (RR): the discovery of TAP’s capital or part of its capital for private aviation groups.

The description of TAP as a strategic investment, a topic that was relegated to the background in the election campaign, is “completely wrong”, especially for Porto airport, says Rui Rocha, who dedicated this Wednesday’s day to the constituency.

“TAP has residual traffic at Porto airport; if it were not for the services of other companies, there would be no air transport,” he emphasized.

The IL leader recalled that Pedro Nuno Santos forced the Portuguese to invest 3.2 billion euros “in a solution that has no future for Portugal.”

Criticizing the opposition, namely the PS, Rui Rocha assured that IL “is not slow with the infrastructure of airports, ports and railways.”
