The Ministry of Health reported this Sunday that more than 78 million messages (SMS) have been sent in the past two years solely for vaccination planning of users eligible for covid-19 vaccination.
In a statement, the Joint Services of the Ministry of Health (OSMS) recall that the first call for a vaccine against covid-19 via messages (SMS) was sent to number 2424 on January 29, 2021.
“In these two years, more than 78 million SMS messages have been sent to eligible users at every stage of the process solely for scheduling purposes,” the SPMS said in a statement, emphasizing that the SMS invitation represents “great technological progress.”
During the most critical period of the pandemic, the scheduling function gradually became available to medical institutions in the country, and SMS number 2424 became the preferred form of vaccination notification.
“For planning, contacts are used contained in the National Register of Users (RNU) of the National Health Service, which provides centralized information to all information systems,” explained the SPMS.
According to SPMS, in addition to the schedule, other messages related to the covid-19 vaccination process have been sent over the past two years, amounting to about 111 million SMS.
“Currently, you can independently sign up for vaccination through the SNS 24 portal, which makes it possible to choose the most convenient day and place,” the GPMS clarifies.
The experience of vaccination, emphasizes SPMS, has shown how “a simple and democratic system such as SMS can be very effective in recruiting users.”
For the same reason, this system has been expanded to call for other actions, such as checks, to increase the speed of contact with the public, the organization concludes.
