Autoeuropa already has a preliminary agreement with the company for the next three years.

This Saturday, the Workers’ Committee and the Autoeuropa management reached a preliminary agreement, valid for the next three years, which provides for a wage increase of 6.8%, a minimum of 100 euros per worker, in 2024.

According to a statement from the Workers’ Committee, the company’s preliminary agreement, which has yet to be approved by a secret vote of approximately 5,000 workers at the Palmela plant, also calls for a minimum wage increase of 2%, or 0.5% above inflation in January 2025 and 2.3%, or 0. .5% above inflation in January 2026.

According to CT, the preliminary agreement also provides for a “150% increase in the target bonus for 2024” and a “bonus of 50% of the average salary of operators or individual salary for specialists” for the launch of the new model to be produced at the Volkswagen automobile plant in Palmela, Setúbal district .

Along with other benefits that will not be announced in full to workers until next Monday, the document also provides for overtime pay, which has already been announced previously, for additional production of 275% for the first hour and 300% for the second hour. .

“The Workers’ Committee believes that this agreement guarantees a real increase in wages in the face of any inflation,” it said in a statement, adding that “this agreement guarantees after three years a wage increase of 175 euros for the lowest wages” and that the resulting bonuses The result of these negotiations – an objective bonus, an increase in 2024 and a bonus for the launch of a new model – could reach “6,000 euros in the next three years.”

Earlier this month, Autoeuropa management tabled a proposal for a 5% pay rise in 2024 – an amount the Workers’ Committee deemed “unacceptable”.

Last year, Volkswagen Autoeuropa, one of the nation’s largest exporters, produced a total of 220,100 T-Rocs, the only model produced at the Palmela plant.

The T-Roc has become the third best-selling car in Europe in 2023, according to the German Volkswagen Group.
