The Livre spokesman assured this Friday that the party “knows how to grow well and responsibly” and identified Chegu as its main target, saying that it wants to “pop the balloon” of the far right.
“It is very important that everyone who voted for Livre in these elections, and those who, even if they did not vote for Livre, were pleased to see the growth of Livre, know that Livre knows how to grow and knows how to grow well and responsibly,” assured he is Rui Tavares.
The leader, who was re-elected as a member of the Assembly of the Republic, said that the results obtained this Sunday by Livre, which managed to elect an unprecedented parliamentary group of four deputies, show that “there is room for the European Greens to go to Portugal.”
In an intervention that lasted about half an hour, Livre again took aim at his main target: the far right, namely Chega.
Tavares noted that Chega’s bench had grown, but countered that “Livre too” and declared that Livre deputies “will be ready to contribute to Portuguese democracy and, together with the rest of the progressives and democrats, to do enough to ensure that this far-right balloon in Portugal is a balloon a balloon that can burst.”
