“We will lead the opposition”: Pedro Nuno Santos congratulated AD on its victory

Pedro Nuno Santos congratulated the Democratic Alliance on its victory in Sunday’s legislative elections. “The result will not allow us to govern. We will lead the opposition,” he said.

Regarding the conditions of governability, he explained that the party cannot “keep the country in tension” or “create any kind of constitutional impasse.” However, he emphasized: “The time for tactics in politics has passed with me. (…) We are not the ones who will support the AD government, and there will be no division in the PS. PS will never go away.” Chege opposition leadership.”

Promising not to approve proposals to reject the right-wing government, he explained that the socialist political project is “incompatible with the AD project.” As for the election results of the party led by Andre Ventura, it aims to show people that “solutions to specific problems in their lives come through the PS, not through Chegu or AD.”

The Democratic Alliance (AD) leads the vote count with a slight lead over the Socialist Party (PS), with more than 99% of the votes. It remains to count the votes of approximately one parish. At 00:16, 77 deputies were elected from AD, 75 from PS, 46 from Chega, eight from IL, five from Bloco de Esquerda, four from Livre, three from CDU and one from PAN.
