The PSP detained 18 people and seized more than 100 guns and 18,000 ammunition after dismantling a firearms trafficking network following a 15-month investigation.
Of the 18 detainees, four stand out, suspected of trafficking and distribution of firearms.
The detainees of the second stage were present this Thursday at the first judicial interrogation, two of them are in pre-trial detention, like the other two participants in the first stage.
According to the statement, Operation Bala Perdida was divided into two phases and took place on November 13, 2023 and March 13, 2024. During the investigation, seven arrest warrants were issued outside the crime scene and 69 search and arrest warrants (37 of which were internal) in the districts of Lisbon, Porto, Setúbal and Évora.
About 200 police officers took part in the operation.
