The former president of the Rarissimas association, Paula Brito da Costa, was sentenced this Wednesday to a suspended sentence of two years’ imprisonment and compensation of about 12,800 euros on charges of using the association’s assets for her own purposes.
Paula Brito da Costa’s lawyer Pedro Duro told Lusa that the court had not proven the crime of forgery of which she was accused, convicting her on part of the facts related to the crime of breach of trust, which culminated in a suspended sentence of two years’ imprisonment and compensation Rarissimas Association in the amount of approximately 12,800 euros.
The amount, as explained by the lawyer, refers to the amount that the court considered proven to have been misappropriated by Paula Brito da Costa, while the prosecution accuses the former head of the association of misappropriating 102 thousand euros.
