Antonio Costa makes his last foreign visit as Prime Minister this Friday and Saturday: a trip to Paris to take part in cultural initiatives to mark the 50th anniversary on April 25.
Coming from Brussels, where he attended his last meeting of the European Council after eight years as head of government of Portugal, Costa will be in Paris this Friday afternoon to visit the exhibition “Portugal: April 25, 1974, Freedom at Last!” presented by at the headquarters building of the Paris City Council.
Afterwards, the executive leader will attend a Franco-Portuguese concert, also dedicated to the Carnation Revolution, performed by the Paris Centenary Orchestra Column, conducted by maestro Cesario Costa.
On Saturday, António Costa will make his last official act abroad as prime minister when he presides over a ceremony to present the insignia of the Order of Merit to Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota and Victoria di Rosa at the Portuguese Embassy in France.
This distinction is justified by the “remarkable work in the cultural season of the Portugal-France Crusade 2022” carried out by Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota and Victoria di Rosa.
Antonio Costa had not planned any meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, whom he met regularly during his mandate, as he met with him and other European partners as part of his last European Council in Brussels.
