Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that suspects in the attack that killed more than 140 people had been captured and detained as they tried to flee to Ukraine. The Russian leader declared Sunday a day of national mourning and guaranteed that those responsible for the massacre would be held accountable for their crimes.
“They were heading towards Ukraine, where, according to preliminary data (of investigations), a “window” was prepared for them to cross the border. The terrorists came only to kill, just as the Nazis did against civilians. “The perpetrators and perpetrators of this crime will pay. The one who ordered the attack will be punished,” Vladimir Putin said.
Shooting in Moscow led to a fire in the theater Crocus City Hall, this Friday afternoon. Russian authorities have confirmed at least 143 deaths and, according to the FSB, 145 people were injured.
