About 11,000 doses of cocaine (about 2 kg) in capsules were found inside the body during an autopsy at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine, judicial police said on Monday, who admit that the death could have been caused by the rupture of at least one of these capsules. Thus, the victim will be one of the so-called “drug couriers”.
According to CMThe man was found dead last week in the desert in Rio de Muro, in the municipality of Sintra. He has yet to be identified and is black.
Also last week, the PS detained two men who had 30 thousand doses of cocaine (about 6 kg) with them and flew to Lisbon by plane from South America. Both of them are in custody by order of a judge.
The PoD warns that “despite the high risk to human life, criminal networks continue to recruit couriers, often young men in situations of great economic and/or emotional need, to transport significant quantities of drugs inside the body, luring them with large sums of money and at the same time, false information about the real risks they may face, including to their lives.”
