A PND soldier who suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest during a physical fitness test (PAF) that consisted of a five-kilometer run in Cascais on Wednesday morning has died. Corporal Enrique Rocha, 48, has been hospitalized at the Santa Cruz Hospital in Carnaxida since the day of the incident, connected to a ventilator, which was turned off on Friday afternoon by agreement with the family.
The GIOP (Group Intervention and Public Order) Corporal from the Intervention Unit collapsed at 11am and was rescued by the GNR medical team who were monitoring the race in an ambulance and soon after by the INEM medical team, and was revived.
