PCP believes the program will lead to “deterioration of living conditions” in Portugal

Paula Santos, PCP deputy, revealed the reasons why the party will put forward a proposal to reject the government program. This Wednesday the politician called “a negative program, both in what it contains and in what it leaves out.”

“There are no effective measures to combat instability, so this program relies on the PCP’s opposition to the government,” Paula Santos told reporters at the Assembly of the Republic.

The parliamentary leader of the PCP considered that the program of the XXIV Constitutional Government “corresponds to a failure that will lead to a deterioration in living conditions” in Portugal.

“He also insists on giving preference to economic groups, which is clearly visible in the goal of reducing the IRC, which mainly benefits large companies,” he stressed.

The leader of the communist parliament emphasized that “this is a program that does not provide answers, does not contain solutions to the problems of the workers and the people” and that, therefore, “it counts on the opposition of the PKP.”

The deputy also considered the government’s statement about including the PKP proposals in its program a “deception”, emphasizing that the reference to the measure proposed by the communists to develop the production potential of the canning industry “leaves the “Dimension, breadth and scale” with which the party presented a package of measures to “assess the fisheries sector” in Portugal.
