Hugo Soares claims that Luis Montenegro did not lie and accuses the PS of “acting in bad faith.”

Hugo Soares reacted this Saturday to the controversy over the cuts to the IRS, stressing that the measure announced by Prime Minister Luis Montenegro was “clear” and that the PS acted “in bad faith”.

The PSD parliamentary leader spoke to journalists in Braga to respond to criticism from the opposition, including from the PS secretary general, who accused the government of deceiving the Portuguese with “fraud and fraud” that are tax breaks, although after all this it would only amount to about 200 million euros.

Hugo Soares said it should be “absolutely clear” that the government and Prime Minister Luis Montenegro did not lie or try to deceive the Portuguese.

The PSD parliamentary leader began by declaring that the Portuguese would be relieved of the tax burden, noting that the Portuguese government was “pure and crystal clear” and “is not lying to the Portuguese.”

“The Prime Minister did not lie,” said Hugo Soares, accusing the PS of “acting in very bad faith.” He states that the opposition should “be better prepared, study what is said, and not persecute those who have made a mistake, shifting responsibility to others, pursuing a policy of bad faith”, adding that the opposition was used for a government that deceived the Portuguese.
