A young woman accused of stabbing another woman who died in April 2023 in Albufeira told a court on Tuesday she did not remember “stabbing herself” because she was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Mariana Carrillo said the knife was given to her by her then-boyfriend, “who was always armed” to avoid detection when entering the club.
The defendant explained that she took the knife inside the establishment under her armpit and then put it in her suitcase and left again with it under her armpit “to protect herself from the threats that were made to her inside the club and to frighten the victim.” “.
“Abroad, Nuria hit me, and I took a knife to defend myself, but without any intent to kill, and only later did my boyfriend, who was between them, tell me that I hit him,” he noted.
Mariana Carrillo said she “doesn’t remember very well” the incident because she had consumed cocaine and several shots of whiskey, and “due to the confusion” that occurred at the scene.
However, she added that she remembers seeing her boyfriend with blood on his shoulder and he said she was the one who stabbed “him and Nuria, someone I didn’t know.”
The defendants explained to the court that they then left the area on foot while Jose Miguel “tried to get rid of the knife. Both were arrested shortly thereafter by the PNP.
Jose Miguel said he was attacked in the midst of the chaos but did not remember the “sequence of events.” The defendant claimed that he lost consciousness, but when he came to, he saw that he was “shot in the shoulder and there was a knife on the floor, which he then picked up.”
He also said that “he had a knife in his hand at the time Nuria fell, and everyone who was at the scene” said that he was the one who inflicted the stabbing that led to the death of the young woman.
