The new government led by Luis Montenegro has committed to reviewing contract law for workers on TVDE’s digital platforms. The Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security guarantees firmness in the analysis of fraud, security and illegal activities.
The manager was concerned about the long working hours of couriers and drivers, the lack of social protection in case of an accident or illness, as well as the safety conditions provided by the service.
Reliability towards users and reports of fake driver’s licenses also influence issues that must be assessed by ministries.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, workers’ rights on platforms such as Uber or Bolt will be addressed differently, targeting the functions in question.
As for TVDE drivers, the working conditions of individual entrepreneurs must be defined in the contract with the platform, with both parties accepting responsibility.
If service providers work with an organization that operates a company, the operating conditions of the organization itself will require assessment.
For couriers, the “presumption of the Labor Code” will be applied, taking into account the current situation or dependence of each employee.
Following this, which is one of the priorities of the State Program, the issue of strengthening the protection of platform workers will also be considered.
