According to him, this “difficult decision” will allow the new trusteeship “to implement the policies and measures that it considers necessary, with the necessary speed, without allowing the current DE-SNA to be considered an obstacle to its implementation.”

“DE-SNS is a technical body, a public institution of the state, which must stand above political issues or party programs and which implements public policies defined by the government,” the statement, signed by Fernando Araujo, also emphasizes.

The SNS Executive Office began operations on January 1, 2023, in accordance with the new National Health Service (SNS) Regulations proposed by then Minister Marta Temido, with the aim of coordinating the response to care of all SNS units and modernizing its management.

According to Fernando Araujo, at the “first and only meeting” with the trusteeship, DE-SNS expressed its readiness for continuity of functions with the aim of completing the ongoing reform, but placing itself “at the disposal of the new government.” team if it understood how to change the politics and face of the system.”

“We have made it clear that we do not want legal compensation. Each member of the team has a previous professional life, four of us are in the SNS, one in the Ministry of Finance and the other in private activities, and that we did not intend to burden the public good under any circumstances,” he also assured the doctor.

Fernando Araujo also stated that he requested that the dismissal of the executive management take effect the day after the submission of the performance report required by the ministry, which, according to him, “was made known by email at the same time as its publication in the media.” . .

“We are not shying away from presenting the requested document, which we have already begun to prepare, especially since we believe that it is not only a responsibility, but also an obligation to publish the results of the work done so that it can be carefully studied, something healthy in the life of society,” – he emphasized.
