The Prime Minister lunches with young people and opens the Sao Bento Gardens to the public to mark the 50th anniversary on 25 April.

Prime Minister Luis Montenegro will celebrate the 50th anniversary on April 25 with a lunch with young people and the opening to the public of the gardens and São Bento Palace, as well as a concert by António Sambujo.

In addition to participating in the official celebrations of the date on Wednesday, including the inaugural meeting of the Assembly of the Republic, Luis Montenegro will host a lunch with 50 young people at 13:30 to celebrate the Carnation Revolution.

According to a source in the Prime Minister’s Office, this dinner will be attended by 50 young people from various sectors – science, culture, sports, PSP, a couple of military – who symbolize the message of “future and hope” that the government wants to convey in these celebrations. anniversary April 25th.

Then, at 15:30, the gardens and São Bento Palace will be open to the public, in the tradition of former Prime Minister António Costa, and there will also be cultural events.

The program includes performances by students from the High School of Dance of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, and from 16:45 there will be a musical performance by singer António Sambujo.

The gardens and palace of São Bento close at 18:30 and Luis Montenegro will still participate at the end of the day in a memorable meeting on April 25 with the President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, with the heads of state of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique , Sao Tome and Principe, Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa and Timor-Leste.
