Vote on government’s proposed IRS cuts delayed 15 days

The vote on the government’s proposed cuts to the IRS has been delayed by two weeks. The SDP’s request was approved to go to the commission without a vote this Wednesday. The Bloc de Esquerda and Livre abstained, while all other parties agreed to the request. The same thing happened with the proposal from Chegi, who asked for a delay of two months. At the same time, only B.E. abstained.

The Left Bloc bill, which would change the specific deduction, was approved, with PS, IL, BE, PCP, Livre and Pan voting against. Only Chega abstained.

Parliament also approved the IRS cuts mandated by the PS. Chega and I.L. abstained, while the SDP and SDS voted against. PS, BE, PCP, Livre and Pan voted in favor, meaning the PS proposal will be discussed in committee.

Hugo Soares, leader of the PSD parliamentarian, has already said that the proposal to reduce the IRS will not be voted on in parliament. The leader says he has contacted all the benches and “only the Liberal Initiative has agreed to talk.”

“HOURToday, with the consent of the government, we will submit a proposal for dismissal to the commission without voting on our proposal,” said the SDP leader.

ABOUT CM You know that in the morning there were negotiations between the parties, in particular with P.S. and Chegoy. One of the issues discussed was the possibility that the proposal would not be put to a vote this Wednesday, but would automatically go to a parliamentary committee for discussion.

However, this will only happen if the starting point for negotiations is greater IRS cuts at the lowest levels, as Chega demands. TO CMParty leader Andre Ventura confirmed that he has proposed to the PSD to negotiate to reach this solution and is awaiting a response.
