The Judicial Police (PS) of Lisbon arrested a 38-year-old man in the municipality of Cascais for committing crimes of sexual abuse against two minor boys. While present in court, he was placed in preventive detention.
ABOUT CM You know that the investigation that led to the arrest of the sexual predator was conducted by the capital’s sexual crimes department of the joint venture. The evidence led to the 38-year-old man being charged with three counts of child sexual abuse involving an 11-year-old boy and another offense of child sexual abuse involving a 14-year-old boy. Prosecutors considered this latest victim to be “a dependent or in a particularly vulnerable position.”
Fundamental to the investigation was the collection of testimonies from the victims and relatives of the two minors. After confirming that the suspect had been subjected to the most severe form of coercion, inspectors from the Lisbon prosecutor’s sexual crimes unit are now trying to determine whether the 38-year-old has reported further victims.
