Communist General Secretary Paulo Raimundo called this Sunday for a mobilization on May 1st to show the government that “it does not have a free hand” and considered that the PKP tax proposal is the best for workers.
At the 50th anniversary dinner on April 25 in Seixal, Setubal district, Paulo Raimundo praised the “powerful affirmation of strength” of the popular demonstrations of the Carnation Revolution and strongly called for mobilization at the May 1 meeting.
“May 1 will send a clear signal that capital, economic groups and the government do not have free hands to implement their project. They want, they want, they would like to do what they want, but the workers, the people and the youth will not give them such an opportunity,” he defended himself.
According to the communist leader, “a few days later, the analysis” carried out by the PKP regarding the government and its program was confirmed, criticizing the signals given regarding wages, housing or the social network.
