“He wants the woman to get married. He likes karaoke.” This is what is written on a giant poster posted in Texas, in the United States of America.
Accompanying the text is an image of Al Gilberti, a 70-year-old man who realizes that paying 370 euros a week (the cost of renting a poster) is the best way to end loneliness.
That’s because since he posted the poster, he’s already received more than 400 calls and 50 emails in just two weeks, the New York Post reports.
“I want to find the right person, but she hasn’t called yet. If I meet her, I want to look into her eyes and see how she reacts,” he said.
Gilberti, who is divorced and has a son, says most of his contacts come from people who want his money. However, he remains confident that he will find the right woman.
“I’m getting more questions from people trying to get something from me, and I understand that. Perhaps I would do the same. They called thinking I was someone rich to help with their bills,” he said.
A man defines three priorities for his future partner: fidelity, honesty and sincerity. A single man admits he’s willing to move anywhere in the US for the perfect person – even allowing for the possibility of going to the UK.
“I would go to Europe to meet the right person, I just need to take care of my passport,” he added.
Gilberti details that he has been single since 2015 and that he was previously with a woman “26 years younger.”
