Prime Minister Luis Montenegro warned on Tuesday of an “extremely difficult situation” in Santa Casa da Misericordia de Lisbon (SCML) and rejected any political changes regarding the dismissal of provider Ana Jorge.
“I believe that it is necessary to give the country signs of the normal functioning of our democracy. There is no political sanitization here,” the head of government said, talking to journalists on the sidelines of a visit to the agricultural fair in Ovibezhe. , which started this Tuesday – the fair in Beja.
When asked about the situation at the SCML, Luis Montenegro even stated that “whoever talks about political rehabilitation may want to ensure that some party loyalties are maintained among the people who are going to leave their posts” in this institution.

The Prime Minister stressed that Santa Casa da Misericordia de Lisbon “is in an extremely difficult situation from a financial point of view and from the point of view of ensuring and protecting its social functions”, and this is what the executive wants to solve.
“There must be complete harmony on the part of the trusteeship with the administration concerned in order to comply with the political principles emanating from the new government,” he stressed.
