This Friday, the Assembly of the Republic unanimously approved a vote of condolences for the death of four people following the sinking of the ship they were traveling on near Troy on April 7.

The vote presented by the SDP was approved unanimously.

“On April 7, our country was rocked by a tragic boating accident in which five people were injured, resulting in the death of four of them off the coast of Troy,” the vote reads.

“What could have been a peaceful fishing Sunday morning turned fatal for Francisco, his father, Ricardo, Gabriel and José (both brothers), as well as their families and friends, whose pain and suffering we highlight here. do not forget condolences in this oath. You cannot recover from the loss of a loved one, you will never recover from such a shocking accident as this, which deeply affected the community of Grande do Sul and the country,” the text emphasizes.

This Friday, MPs also unanimously approved a motion of condolences submitted by BE regarding the death of seven workers of the non-governmental organization (NGO) World Central Kitchen in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli army on April 1.

The vote states that “these individuals were on a humanitarian mission to prepare and distribute food in Gaza” and that “seven members of the humanitarian organization were part of a group that traveled in three armored vehicles, duly marked with the organization’s logo, on a trip that took place after coordinating this trip with the Israeli army.”

“The death of members of humanitarian organizations is an attack on their workers, on this organization, but also on all humanitarian organizations operating in conditions of war and, more broadly, on international humanitarian law,” the deputies say.
