“I strongly condemn, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Portuguese government, today’s racist attacks in Porto,” the head of government wrote on his official account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), expressing “solidarity with the victims.”
Luis Montenegro affirmed “zero tolerance for hatred and xenophobic violence” and praised “the work of the security forces.”
Also in a post on the same social network, the BE coordinator called for “exemplary punishment for the aggressors,” advocating “not a single day of silence against the politics of hate.”
