“The PS welcomes the government and social partners for signing today the Medium Term Agreement to increase incomes, wages and competitiveness. This is more than a fulfilled electoral pledge, this is a historic agreement that will in practice result in a higher cost of revenues and a strengthening of the conditions for the competitiveness of national companies,” PS said in a statement.

The party added that “with determination, competence and a sense of the future, this decision guarantees predictability in the time horizon until 2026, thus defining a set of common goals and objectives aimed at simultaneously increasing the income of workers and competitiveness. company”. National economy”.

“To the political stability achieved in January, now added, with undeniable benefits for the country, stability in a number of critical areas for the next four years,” said PS Deputy Secretary General Joao Torres, quoted by the publication. reported.

“The PS welcomes all the social partners who, together with the government, have committed themselves to making this agreement possible in a process of convergence and opening up. A medium-term agreement to increase incomes, wages and competitiveness was signed today in Lisbon by Prime Minister António Costa and representatives of the Confederation of Portuguese Farmers (CAP), the Business Confederation of Portugal (CIP), the Confederation of Turismo de Portugal (CTP) and the General Union of Workers (UGT ).

The Portuguese Confederation of Commerce and Services (CCP) signed the document ahead of the ceremony, while the CGTP refused to formalize the agreement, saying the planned measures were “not enough” to address the concerns of workers, pensioners and pensioners.
