Ventura says Montenegro is ‘disoriented’ and again threatens to reject state budget

Chegi President Andre Ventura on Tuesday felt that Prime Minister Luis Montenegro was “a little disoriented” and again threatened to reject next year’s state budget if the document “is not good.”

“The prime minister is a little disoriented. He should focus on solving the problems he promised and did not solve,” he said, urging Luis Montenegro to “focus on governing.”

Noting that “victimization has a limit,” Andre Ventura believes that “there will come a point when people will get tired of this discourse: ‘they don’t let me manage, I wanted to, but they won’t let me’.”

On the sidelines of a visit to Feira da Ladra in Lisbon, the Chegi leader was asked about the prime minister’s criticism on Monday. Luis Montenegro accused the PS of “giving a helping hand” to Chege, while Andre Ventura’s party was “enough” for the Socialists.

“I heard the leader of the Social Democratic Party say that I promote hatred, violence, division. If this is an attack on the party, I don’t know what it means to attack the party,” he replied.

Andre Ventura believed that the executive director of the PSD/CDU-PP “should manage better and not worry about what happens in parliament between Chega, the PS, the Left Bloc or the Liberal Initiative,” warning that there are several professional sectors that “they You become discouraged, frustrated and tired.”

“Whether the Prime Minister likes it or not, Chega is not in Parliament to be anyone’s crutch, not for the SDP or anyone else. When it comes to projects and proposals that cut taxes, that end fees, that raise pensions, that give dignity to ex-combatants, that give dignity to police, that help businessmen, we will be there” regardless of the party that represents them. he assured, noting that this is a “tradition” of his party.

President Chegi reiterated that the SDP leader must “fulfill the promises he made” during the election campaign.

“If you don’t want to, find out the way to the Belem Palace, get in the car, go there and say: Mr. President, I don’t have the conditions to govern, I want to leave. And the President of the Republic can call me, and I’m ready,” he said.

Andre Ventura also said that the parliamentary leader of the PSD is “lying” when he says that there is an agreement between the two parties on issues such as tolls, the IRS or the election of the President of the Assembly of the Republic.

“The Prime Minister decided not to enter into an agreement with either Chega or the Socialist Party, now he cannot complain that he does not have a majority. It was he who did not want this majority,” he said, noting that Luis Montenegro knows how to contact him.

When asked whether Chega might vote against next year’s state budget, Andre Ventura noted that the document is not yet known, but warned that “if these small maneuvers that have been seen in the IRS and tolls continue, if this is the PSD budget, so you can be sure.”

“We promised people a serious financial shock, we promised wage increases, we promised sustainable pension increases. If we now come to the budget and nothing happens with the argument that there is no money, then after that everything will not be the same as it was, you can be sure that Chega will vote against it, he said.

“Our coalition is with the people, and therefore, if the budget is bad, we will not have our votes for it, if it is good, our votes will be for it,” he emphasized.
