In a debate on the state of the National Health Service initiated by the PSD, Paulo Moniz believed that the “second dimension” involved considering the current situation in the largest hospital in the Azores as “the central problem of the country.”

PS MP Mariana Vieira da Silva assured that the Socialist parliamentary group is “following with all attention and great concern what happened last weekend in Ponta Delgada,” considering it “an extreme situation to which everyone is called.”
The fire, which broke out at the Ponta Delgada hospital, the only public hospital on the island of Sao de Miguel, at 9:40 local time on Saturday (10:40 in Lisbon) and was declared extinguished only at 16:11. , forced the transfer of all hospitalized patients.
At the time of the fire, there were 333 patients in the medical facility, 240 had to be transferred.
