According to the newspaper Voz de Galicia, the column of smoke is visible five kilometers away. According to Portugal’s civil protection website, 16 fighters and six vehicles have already arrived from Alto Minho to help put out the flames, which have already reached the forested area. The fire alarm at the Su Ministros Horticolas Bacelo plant was raised at around 16:00.
The factory was closed when the fire started, so there are no reports of injuries at this time. In addition to emergency services, the Spanish Civil Guard is also on the scene trying to understand the cause of the fire.
