Chega proposes in the pre-election program for the European elections to revise the Citizenship Law and make the granting of citizenship dependent on tests on the history of Portugal.
The party advocates setting annual immigration quotas “based on qualifications, the needs of the country’s labor market and the added value for Portugal.”
Among the 43 measures of the program called “Europe needs cleaning,” 13 are dedicated to “fighting illegal immigration.”
The candidate, led by António Tangier Correa, also proposes to cancel the mobility agreement of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) and abandon the Migration Pact United Nations (UN).
This Tuesday Chega presented pre-election program for the European elections on June 9 at a hotel in Lisbon.
