The left bloc will demand the creation of a commission of inquiry into the management of Santa Casa, similar to Chega and the Liberal Initiative, due to the “disruptive” investments associated with the internationalization of social games.
“An investment that has turned out to be catastrophic and we want to know these investments in detail,” said deputy José Soeiro, speaking to reporters at the end of a hearing by the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security regarding the financial situation of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon, internationalization social games and the dismissal of provider Ana Jorge.
The Left Bloc MP said he would like to scrutinize the audit that has been requested regarding Santa Casa Global’s investment in the internationalization of social games.
“Firstly, because we want to know the facts and we want to know who is responsible, why the investments were made in such a careless manner and such strange and questionable investments,” he explained.
He added that the second reason relates to the “propagation of the narrative” that the situation caused by these “bad decisions” by managers must now have consequences for the employees of the institution.
“This, from our point of view, is unacceptable and that is why we must hold accountable those who made these decisions,” said MP Jose Soeiro.
