A woman died on Tuesday in Lausanne as a result of a collision between two vehicles, light and heavy, which occurred on the national bypass road 342, a source in Civil Protection said.
A source in the subregional command for emergencies and civil protection of the Coimbra region told Lusa that the accident was recorded at around 9:15 am near the access point to EN 342 in the parish of Gandaras.
“The deceased is the driver of a car,” he added.
At about 11:30 a.m., traffic on the road connecting Lusan to Miranda do Corvo in the Coimbra region was still closed to allow cleanup work to take place.
In addition to the GNR of Losão and the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM), the relief operations included the municipal firefighters of Losão and the volunteers of Miranda do Corvo, for a total of 22 operatives supported by seven vehicles.
